5 Months and Counting

Our little man turned 5 months today! I still cant believe that 5 months has gone by. He is growing so fast. This month we had the opportunity to dedicate him at our church and we also celebrated his first Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family. It was such a blessing to be able to dedicate him to the Lord as well as make the commitment to raise him in a Godly way. Our prayer is that he would come to know the Lord at a young age and that as he grows up that he would have a heart for the Lord. Since we also celebrated Christmas, he was able to open his first Christmas presents (with some help from mom and dad!) His favorite so far is a Musical Lion from great grandma Carey. Josh's favorite was "beginners" rubiks cube for Ryan from Grandma Carey!

Some of the things Ryan has learned to do this month -
1. Giggling when he thinks something is funny. One day while I was feeding him, I sneezed, he stopped eating, looked at me for about 2 seconds then started giggling - so precious!

2. Eating Solids (rice cereal)

3. Reaching for toys and faces

4. Rolling from side to side

Getting Started

So, I am not a huge fan of trends, or trying to keep up with what everyone else is doing, but here I am starting a blog! When I began considering the possibility of posting a blog, I asked my sister if she thought it sounded like I was jumping on the blog bandwagon. I didn’t want to start a blog just to be like everyone else, but I wanted an avenue to share the goings-on of our lives with far away friends and family. A little over a year ago I became a military wife and moved away from the only place I have ever lived and where most of my friends and family were within a 3-hour drive. We were able to see each other often and at least catch up. In the last year, I have made many new friends and watched some of them move away. I realize that there will always be new friends coming into our lives, and old friends moving away. Because of this, I see the benefit of sharing about life. It is encouraging to see how the Lord is working in each other’s lives, and to read about the daily joys and struggles each of us face. I thoroughly enjoy reading their blogs and feel connected to them in that way. So, hopefully I will have something to write about and my hope is that it will be encouraging to anyone who reads this!

1 Thessalonians 5:11 – Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing

Hebrews 10:24-25 – And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as your see the Day drawing near
